March 2017 Newsletter

Marching onward...

Hello and welcome to our March newsletter!

This is my favourite time of year. The weather cools enough to make the days enjoyable, and unlike Spring, I don't have my head in a bag of antihistamine. The downside is the days are getting shorter and dragging myself to work in the dark is never easy for a sloth like me. Soon enough I'll be complaining about Winter so I'll just make the most of Autumn. I've been enjoying my travels around the Central West, particularly seeing all the incredible corn crops south-west of Forbes.

In unrelated news, in the spirit of world events this week I gave Susie the award for 'Employee of the Month', then realised I'd read out the wrong envelope and so gave it to Mike.

That's an Oscars joke, people. Who's with me?

We're working on a couple of exciting projects this month which we'll be able to tell you about soon. There's a reason to read next month's newsletter, am I right?

Best wishes to you all for March,

Allan

Ploughman's Lunch

A topic on shafts to bore.

Nothing boring about plough bearings. We stock a range of common plough bearings in top brands such as Timken (Fafnir), NTN, RHP and more. These come with different configurations such as spherical or cylindrical OD, depending on the housing and application.

Pictured are some of the common styles such as the square bore ball bearing, left.
Left: the "hex" bore ball bearing, known for its hexagonal bore. These plough bearings have oversized bores and sit loosely on a matching shaped shaft.
Left: the round bore ball bearing, to suit a round shaft.

Hitting The Reply-Button

One customer responded in reference to the Game of Thrones meme in our Valentine's themed newsletter:

"I love you like my own brother. Pure gold. Every time."

Yes, that's what I thought too when I saw it.
And a former Forbes gent wrote in with:

Another great newsletter but who exactly are these Forbes swamprats. Please explain!

If you don't know by now, you will probably never know.
