RACING CLUTCHES

Advantages of the Comfort Pedal. Consistent with their tradition of quality, all Exedy racing and performance clutches are designed, engineered and built as race clutches, not rebuilt from stock clutches.

For example, unlike other performance clutch manufacturers, Exedy clutches are not made of grey cast iron from rebuilt stock clutches, but pressure plates are newly constructed from ductile (nodular) iron for your complete safety in harsh performance conditions.

Exedy racing clutches with organic friction materials utilise only premium materials to provide maximum resistance to slippage and burst. These clutches can also accommodate modified engines due to increased clamp loads.

Exedy cerametallic clutches are designed to handle the abuse of high powered modified engines. Their cerametallic friction can absorb more slippage than a stock disc.

As with any cerametallic clutch system, some compromise of start up driveability should be expected as compared to a stock engine clutch.

A wide range of factory modified clutches are available at affordable prices for the 'street' market which incorporates the technology used in producing the factory race and rally clutches shown here.

WIDE ANGLE DAMPER

With the advent of direct fuel injection and lower idling RPM, there is a need for higher performance damping and, as a result, Exedy have developed the WAD solution to overcome both the RPM fluctuation and the harsh condition the damper springs operate in, particularly in drive and overrun.

This is just one example of new developments by Exedy for improved drivetrain conditions.

Exedy is the world's leading original equipment manufacturer of automotive clutches for heavy truck, construction and industrial vehicles.

Their customers include Isuzu, Nissan, Mazda and Hino.

These cover applications ranging in size from 305mm to 430mm and incorporate both organic and cerametallic friction material.

SILENT TYPE DISC DESIGN

The introduction of diesel powered 4WD vehicles has necessitated the development of what is described by Exedy as the 'Silent' or 'LTD' (Long Travel Disc) type disc.

This was necessary to overcome neutral gear rattle.

It is strongly recommended that only the LTD type is used when replacement is necessary in your diesel powered 4WD.
